Midnight motif

Midnight Motif is a Vancouver-based band that brings together French chanson, folk music, pop, rock, blues, and soul.
The band grew out of a community of musicians who met through open mics and music events across the Lower Mainland, from Tsawwassen and Surrey to New Westminster and the heart of Vancouver. What began as a shared love of the stage gradually developed into a group united by the joy of performing and a desire to share their passion for music with others.
The five-piece ensemble brings together musicians from Canada and France with diverse musical and cultural backgrounds. Featuring vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums, Midnight Motif draws inspiration from generations of artists from around the world, moving comfortably between timeless standards, nostalgic favourites, and contemporary material. Some arrangements remain close to the spirit of the originals, while others are reshaped through the band’s own instrumentation and musical chemistry.
​United by a love of strong melodies and emotional storytelling, Midnight Motif creates a sound that shifts naturally from intimate and reflective to energetic, rhythmic, and playful.
